We recently completed a full tile roof replacement on a residential property in Prestatyn, North Wales. This project involved stripping back the existing roof and installing a brand new tiled system to improve both performance and appearance. The finished result has completely transformed the property, giving it a clean, uniform look while ensuring long term protection from the elements.
The original roof had reached the end of its lifespan, with visible wear across the tiles and underlying issues that were beginning to affect its weatherproofing. There were signs of deterioration in the felt and battens, along with general ageing that made the roof less reliable during poor weather. The chimney areas also required attention to ensure proper sealing and protection moving forward.
We began by carefully removing all existing tiles and stripping the roof back to the rafters. This allowed us to fully inspect the structure and ensure everything was sound before rebuilding. New breathable membrane was installed across the roof, followed by treated timber battens set out to correct gauge. Once prepared, we installed new roof tiles across all elevations, ensuring straight lines and consistent spacing throughout. Ridge tiles were fitted securely along the apex and hips, with mechanical fixings used for added strength and durability. Leadwork around the chimney was renewed and dressed properly to create a watertight finish.
For this project, we used high quality concrete roof tiles, breathable roofing membrane, treated timber battens, and new ridge and hip systems. These materials were chosen for their durability, weather resistance, and long lifespan, ensuring the roof will perform well for many years. The updated leadwork also provides reliable protection around key junctions such as the chimney stack.
The completed roof in Prestatyn now offers a strong, weatherproof, and visually appealing finish that significantly enhances the property. The clean lines and fresh tiles give the home a renewed look while providing peace of mind for the homeowner.
